Well, My Bags are Packed...I'm Ready to Go

I made myself a list this morning to stay focused...I packed up the camper and made up the bed and was in the sewing room by 10:00 a.m. I tried on my waders to make sure they still fit. I bought them when I was much slimmer...in fact when I first got them my neighbor dubbed me the string bean because they are a nice olive colored neoprene and I was a skinny little beanpole. They still fit, but don't look for me to be featured in this year's Women in Waders calendar unless it's the >50 edition!!! Yesterday was the neverending baking day. Do you ever start baking and then forget to stop? That's what it felt like. We were on our last loaf of bread, so I new I had to at least do a batch of bread. Then Tom asked about a quick breakfast before clamming and could I make more banana chocolate chip bread...sure, why not? Then I planned to serve the pulled pork when we are camping in LaPine, so I had to make some buns. I only used half the dough for the buns, and the rest I turned into yummy garlic rolls. I found a box of chocolate chip muffins in the pantry, so I made those up too. Since we are going to be hanging out with friends both at the beach and in LaPine, I made some more of those mini peanut butter cheesecakes to take. Oh and another batch of bread to throw in the freezer so I don't have to make bread right away when we get home...Whew!!! It makes me tired just to write it all down! No baking today and we did Wong's takeout for dinner, so I didn't even have to cook. In the sewing room I embroidered 5 onesies for the baby shower we are having at work when I return from vacation. Our new Mom wanted something "Oregon" for her baby to wear, so I digitized an outline of the state with "I heart Oregon" in the middle. I watched a bunh of movies today, starting with Disney's "Angel's in the Outfield", then "Without Limits", the story of Steve PreFontaine. We lived in the Coos Bay area for 20 years and I don't think there is anyone in Coos county who doesn't know the legend of Steve PreFontaine. Lastly I was in the mood for City of Angels. I finished up the Barbie project and then her arm fell off as we were preparing her to go back home, so Tom is fixing it now (and giving me a hard time). I also have a thrift find refashion in the works which I will blog about later. Right now I think a trip to the hot tub and maybe a mini cheesecake before bed and then tomorrow it's the beach or bust!!!

Enjoy your vacation. Sounds like it will be a lot of fun! Your baking is making me hungry and you just reminded me of a wonderful banana and chocolate chip muffin I had a few weeks back. Enjoy your time at the beach.
