Pattern Review Portland Update

Just got home from a fun filled day with the Pattern Review Crew. Here is a picture of the Pattern Review quilt. It has truly been a blessing to meet and hang out with the people who share their love of sewing. Pati Palmer was amazing and I learned a lot of things about fit, making jackets and pants. Pati brought McCall's sample garments to show us and some of the garments she has made from her patterns. She made it a point to tell us that she has never worked a day in her life (because she loves what she does) Isn't that the way it SHOULD be??? Here is Pati measuring Deepika after she shared that one leg was 5/8" shorter than the other, so she wanted to know if her arms were different lengths. That really can be a fit issue! We all have different body types and shapes, so no pattern company can make the perfect pattern that will fit everyone. The day flew by and there was so much good information. We had dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory, which is across the road from the hotel. After dinner we returned to the hotel for the ugly fabric competition. Our group won with this fetching creation modeled by Cindy...Our design team included Rebecca, Nancy, Christina, Cidell and me.Don't you want us to design something for you?
