This has been a tough week. A good friend's guide dog had some health issues and is now retired. The good news is that she will recover, but it's sad for my friend who has worked with July for over 10 years. To make matters worse, her husband's retired guide Disney (who has been a featured guest on Mary is Sewfast) has passed over the Rainbow Bridge. RIP big D...I shall miss you my friend...til we meet again...
As for sewing, I have made progress on the Pippa dress. Since the rain is making a return this week I should get some sewing time on my days off. I hurried up this morning before work and tilled my garden beds while it was still dry. Beans and brocolli in the ground! Yay for me!!! Just enjoying a spot of tea and then it's off to bed...later

Oh, my sympathies to all. I, too, have a friend that is blind and may soon have to retire his 4th guide dog. He wants Pascal to come live with me. We will accept him with open arms.
That's so wonderful that Pascal will retire with you and your friend will still be able to see him. Sometimes placement with a friend is not always an option and it's so sad when students have to say goodbye to their old dog when they come to get a successor dog. Kellie will keep July and still bring her to work when she can. We laughed last night about telling the lift driver that she needed 2 guide dogs because she's blind in both eyes! Hopefully we will find a match for her soon.
Oh Mary - what a tough week. Godspeed Disney! Give all our dogs a kiss, would ya?

My sympathy to all. I hope you're feeling better now.
On the bright side, I'm looking forward to seeing your Pippa dress. I bought the pattern, too, and haven't even planned what to do with it yet.
