Chetta B Baby!!!

Here it is...my Chetta B after 9 hours at work and it still looks good. This turned out to be one of those "feel good" dresses...you know the ones, you feel comfortable and confident in. I see at least one more in the near future, probably the long sleeve version. I have a red knit that I planned to make the initial Chetta B, but then Fabric.com came through with their fast shipping and this knit print just screamed to be first. Today is my day off and I have been busy doing other things besides sewing, despite having a couple of jobs to do. I went to the hardware store to get some odds and ends for one project and then hit my favorite local thrift store that is only open twice a week. I made the buy of the century...I got a really nice Worlds of Wonder playpen (do they still call them playpens? I think the are "play yards" now) for the ridiculous price of $1.00.
It is beautifully clean and even has the original sheet to go over the mattress. I was suspect when I saw the price, but figured it is a good charity and I could always bring it back for them to resell it if it didn't work for me. It came with a nice carrying case, so now Grandma is ready!!! No pressure, Kiddo! My friend Charmaine just emailed me that she is going to be a Grandma for the first time. I'm excited for Charmaine. I know my day will come. I received a cute forward the other day about first graders describing what grand parents are. One child wrote "Grandparents are really old people who like kids". I guess that qualifies me!

You look great! Those knit dresses are wonderful - the fabric still looks good after being at work all day and is so comfortable to wear.

Yours turned out great! I'm still hoping the weather will warm up enough for me to wear mine one or two times before I have to back it away for the winter.

I love your dress! I just made Vogue8379 in a knit for my daughter and the way you describe yours is how we felt about this Diane Von Ferstenberg Look-a-like.I have it posted on my blog if you're interested. I'm in the process of making my own.
Hope to see the red one you're planning on making soon .
Happy Sewing, Diana
