Cleaning...A Love/Hate Relationship

I love a clean house. Not so wild about cleaning when I could be sewing. I bought a steam cleaner today. It is a Gruene Steam mop/cleaner. The tank is removable with many attachments and it has straps to throw it over your shoulder. I heart it!!! I decided a good test would be to tackle the bathroom in our bedroom. It did a fabulous job cleaning the shower door and removing soap scum. I did the mirror and vanitys and then put it back on the column to clean the floor. It did a great job. The problem with cleaning is that when I do get down to it, I see other things that need cleaning and have a problem stopping. Fifteen minutes til Project Runway...just enough time to fix a bite and settle in.

You need to hire a cleaning lady!!! We take care of that stuff so you don't have to! I love my job because it's an instant gratification thing. You feel good about a clean house and I get a paid work out.

I'm not sure about hiring a cleaning lady...I have a couple of good friends who clean houses, but I'm afraid I would have to clean before the cleaning lady comes because I'm embarrassed about the mess and if I feel compelled to do that, what's the point???

I try to keep up some but with 4 small kids, it doesn't last.

I know what you mean about cleaning. My house has needed "Spring Cleaning" for about 2 years. I think I'll just move, though. ;)

Hi Sewfast, I actually live in Portland and am considering buying the Gruene steam cleaner from Stark's Vacuums.

After finding your post I wondered, now that you have had the steam cleaner for about 6 months, do you still like it? Are you using it? Anything you don't like about it? etc?

If you have any further review points, I would appreciate it.

I am moving and this seems like it might be a helpful tool to get the new place all spic and span without chemicals.
