Progress
I got a lot accomplished on my days off. The super secret Christmas gift was completed in good time and I actually am getting somewhere with the green coat. I think I will really like it when it is done. I am taking my time, as the instructions are a little sketchy and I already have had to rip a few seams to get it right. I really need to think more when sewing then just blindly follow the directions verbatim, because sometimes...they are just plain wrong!!! Has anyone else experienced that? I also repaired Tom's bedroll (easy fix). I only have one other project cut out...a red corduroy print jumper. I really need to work on pants. Don't know why I am so hung up on dresses...as Tom pointed out..."It's almost winter, woman...shouldn't you be making pants???" Yes, dear...

Mary, For years (okay...2+ decades) I followed instructions verbatim. Like the sky was going to fall if I didn't follow the instructions to a T. Sometimes I felt so stupid if I didn't get something. Then after joinging PR, I realized that instructions can actually be (GASP!) wrong! Now I'm much better at reading all the instructions, then doing what I think should be done.
